Scotsman in the Netherlands. EasyJet far-too-frequent flier. Music lover. Corvid appreciator. Sometimes I write code. Other times I make cookies. This blog is mostly about things that make and keep me happy.
@sunpig@mastodon.scot on Mastodon, for now. Social, yes. Media, yes. Social media, no. Once again, I’ve come to the conclusion that being active on social media is bad for my own mental health. (It might be fine for you, but I can’t handle it.)
Ach, I need to do that whole upgrade, I’m still worrying about the work I have to do from 3.4. Refresh all the templates to take advantage of all the new tags and structure…and that’s me starting from beginning once again.
Upgrade or re-install…it’s like the Hollywood remake or reimagining. However much the company sell it as one, it’s the other.
I upgraded all of the templates for this blog earlier in the year, but the templates for all the other blogs that run off of this install haven’t been touched since the days of MT 3.2 — and they all worked fine when I went up to 4.1, and now to 4.2. (I skipped 4.0.)
I seem to remember that one of the big complaints about MT4 was how its performance was poor compared to 3. 4.2 is certainly much faster than 4.1, but I don’t know if that brings it back to what it was in the days of 3.
Just for a laugh, I installed version 1.00 (from October 2001) on a Virtual Machine a few months ago. Man, talk about fast. That thing went like the blazes.
