For all the work with time zones I’ve done in the past, it was only yesterday that I noticed that (in Western Europe, at least), the clocks are not on summer and winter time for the same amount of time. Summer time starts on the last Sunday in March, winter time starts on the last Sunday in October. Summer time is 7 months long, winter time only 5.
Huh.
And ‘Winter Time’ is even shorter here by a few weeks, as we Spring Forward this upcoming Sunday.
I’m so glad it’s getting light again. I’ve been particularly conscious of the lengthening days this last month. I drive Fiona and a friend of hers to gym and back every Tuesday late afternoon, and I’ve loved the increasing light every week. We’re almost at the point of it being light when I get up in the morning, too.
