MT-Blacklist

This blog is now protected by MT-Blacklist. I had hoped to wait until Movable Type 3 before implementing an anti-spam solution for the comments sections here, but the spammers went a bit nuts over the weekend. MT’s basic options for deleting comments are, shall we say, limited, so a more serious solution was needed. MT-Blacklist has caught 16 junk comments since I installed it yesterday evening. It rocks. Yay Jay!

  1. MT-Blacklist does rock, gotta agree with you on that. I’ve had it implemented since it was announced, per a recommendation by Shirley Kaiser.

I had to do something considering my blog was being pounded with spam and MT-Blacklist did the trick. It now works more as a filter than just a script that deletes spam.

    I dig!

  2. How ironic is this?

While I was reading your note, my email program notified me that one of my blog entries had been spammed.

I stay on top of all my blogs with MT-Blacklist. I don’t want to have to move to a registration system. MT-Blacklist is about the greatest thing I’ve encountered other than blogs themselves.

    I agree wholeheartedly, “YAY Jay!”

  3. Let’s all go hug Jay. Blacklist catches between 20 and 40 spam comments everyday before they get to my blog, and the email system works like a charm when a new spammer shows up.

I’m nervous about MT 3.0, and loathe to give up Blacklist.
