Take, for example, this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movieadvance.com\/\"><acronym title=\"Game Boy Advance\">GBA<\/acronym> Movie Player<\/a> adapter I&#8217;ve just bought, on a tip-off from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunpig.com\/martin\/archives\/2004\/10\/25\/gadget_fever\/#comment-1147\">WillC2 in a recent comment<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunpig.com\/martin\/images\/2004\/11\/gba_movie_player_large.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sunpig.com\/martin\/images\/2004\/11\/gba_movie_player_small.jpg\"  alt=\"Scan of the box for the GBA Movie Player\" style=\"padding:4px;border:1px dotted black;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;A good and cool device for your GBA&#8221;  <i>Excellent.  I&#8217;d hate to buy a product that wasn&#8217;t cool.  I might look like a dork.<\/i><\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It must work with CF card&#8221;  <i>I can just see the product designers looking anxious, crossing their fingers, and wishing with all their hearts: &#8220;It <strong>must<\/strong> work with CF cards, it <strong>must!<\/strong>&#8220;<\/i><\/li>\n<li>&#8220;To listen to the music&#8221;  <i>Aha.  Fans for the Doobie Brothers, I see.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And on the back of the box, they decided that politeness was definitely the way to go for their basic instructions:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sunpig.com\/martin\/images\/2004\/11\/gba_movie_player_instructions.png\"  alt=\"GBA Movie Player instructions\" style=\"padding:4px;border:1px dotted black;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>For all that, I have to say it&#8217;s a rather nifty little product.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know it&#8217;s not particularly big or clever to make fun of foreign products trying to market themselves in English&#8230;but sometimes it can be just a teensy bit amusing.
